No tigers again today. They are here as we did find numerous fresh pug marks (paw prints) on the trails.
We confirmed two truisms today: 1.) India is very hot and dusty in April and 2.) Finding tigers takes patience (even in a locale known for relative abundance). The dust is quite fine and gets into everything. I have had to clean the camera gear after each game drive -- something I have never done before. We wear shemaghs (or keffiyehs, the traditional Arab headdress made from square scarf) to minimize the amount of dust we inhale. The mornings are cool (upper 60s F), but by noon it is over 100 F. Start off about 5:30 AM and back in lodge by 10 AM. Midday naps recharge the batteries drained by the heat. Then out again at 3 PM until sundown.
